Grain Guy
In need to import a PDF of a shape sent to me from an artist. I want to size his image and draw over top to create a template for a backer.
TerryMcK
It can't be done with Sketchup. You could use a suitable conversion program to export the PDF as a jpg, png, tif or bmp and import it. Then you would have to scale it up to the dimensions of the unscaled PDF. wtnhighlander
There is an open source program called 'the Gimp' that can import your PDF and save it as a bitmap image (.jpg .BMP .gif, etc...)

Andrew Pritchard
The GIMP is awesome, though I've found for many things is complete overkill. For exporting things from PDF I've found taking a screen shot and pasting it into MS Paint (for those of us on PCs) to be the fastest way - but only if what you want to import will fit on the screen in one go. To do a screenshot, do ALT + Print Screen then open paint (or the GIMP) and then to CTRL + V
