BillyDvd
Newbie here looking to upgrade my Ridgid R4512. I have an line on a new in the box U36-30 unifence for 250$. (Is this a good price?) I have also been looking at the VEGA 40 & 50 for a few bucks more. Anybody have any experience with these? Is one more precise than the other? Jigs and Fixtures are not an issue as I haven't built any yet. Thanks for any help, Bill
mds2
My friend has the Vega and it is VERY nice. I love the micro adjust on it. I have no experience with the Delta.
Chuck Melton
I have the Vega Pro 40 and it absolutely transformed my saw. It's rock solid and super easy to install (even on my 25 year old Grizzly)
Tpt life
I like my Vega.
BillyDvd
Thanks Gents - Your responses and the fact the unifence is no longer made - sealed the VEGA!
Chuck Melton
The Pro 50 is $2 cheaper than the Pro 40 on Amazon right now... if you have the space you may as well go for it. Also the Pro models are like $80 -$100 cheaper than the U models (which are not as nice). Go figure...
BillyDvd
Chuck - I wish I had the room for the 50"!!!! However the 40" is ordered and will be here tomorrow! I just want to be able to cut 2 pieces the same length and square. Hope this helps!
ChetlovesMer
I have had 2 unifences in my life. I liked the first one so much that when I got my new saw about 6-7 years ago I bought another one. I'm a huge fan of the Uni-Fence. It is so versatile I can't imagine not having it. I was always surprised it wasn't more popular. I think the fact that it's a little "different", many people shied away from it.
