Firehawk
I made this for my wife for her birthday recently. The wood is curly maple with cherry dye. The ends were maple as well until they blew out badly on the router table so I remade them out of oak. I figured it didn't matter as they were getting dyed ebony anyways! Eric.
Well done. Clean work on the hinges. A Woodsmith Shop classic.
TerryMcK
Great work Mark. I love the maple figure. I think the contrast with the ebonized oak is fabulous. Keeping the piece to two species has really worked well.
wtnhighlander
Agree on that color / species combination, it looks awesome! Oh, the craftsmanship is pretty good, too.
Firehawk
Very pretty. Great job on those hinges It's funny how the hinges can cost more than the wood I used!
