Woodenskye
I have 2 pieces of 1/4" glass that I am using for sharpening. I want to mount the glass on a 1/2" piece of MDF. What is the best way to attach the glass to the MDF? I have looked and some say silicone, carpet tape, liquid nails, I just am not sure what will be best. JerrySats
I would say carpet tape or double sided turners tape .
wdwerker
Water and MDF don't mix well, why use a MDF base? Carpet tape to keep it from sliding around . Granite scrap, or something that won't swell up when wet would be my choice.
wtnhighlander
Bed, Bath, and Beyond often carries granite baking stones. Not exactly machinists plates, but flat enough to carry your glass, and pretty inexpensive. I actually get good results using sandpaper right on the stone. Larry Moore
If you have a countertop shop or a place that does solid surface stuff. They may have leftovers that they will give away I have picked up several 18 inch square pieces from one by me
nebelk
I have used weldbond to adhere glass plates to MDF backing for my sharpnng station. It has worked fine so far
CessnaPilotBarry
Granite scrap, or something that won't swell up when wet would be my choice. If you go with a granite scrap or tile, you don't even need the glass...
