Yippee...another forum...I think.

Let's see...according to the Wood Whisperer I'm supposed to register. Did that. Then I'm supposed to:

- Upload some pictures to the gallery.

- Check out the growing SketchUp Library

- Post in the forums

- Start a blog

What kind of pictures? Does Nicole read this forum (grin)?

A growing SketchUp library. Cool! Want a copy of my bathroom? Didn't think so.

Ah...finally something that I can do...post in the forums. I'm doing that.

And I can start a blog. Already got one of those and sometimes wonder why :-)

Thanks, Marc, for setting this up.

Cheers --- Larry "aka Woodnbits"

What do these weird links look like? Most standard links should work.

Like this:

http://niblet.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=12121&g2_serialNumber=2&g2_GALLERYSID=d71fa99fb705ebd6462d4e04b5399533

I think Gallery just caches the thumbnails and smaller versions of the photos. It doesn't actually resize them to make a new .jpg file. The cached file seems to work for with forums like woodnet and phpBB software. Such is technology though.

What is an avitar? Anything like a mortising chisel? I don't get out much.

Not sure if you are joking or not so I'll take it at face value. Your avatar is the picture you set up in your profile as a graphic ID for yourself. Mine happens to be my picture.....but it can be anything. This forum (I think) requires avatar photos to be 150x150 pixels square, make sure it is square on all four sides though (ok, bad humor) and under 50KB, could be mistaken. Anyway, some forums, this site included, allows the use of "global avatars"; avatars that are setup on one site (i.e. gravatar.com) and then can be used across many sites.

Since you guys are here, I have my photo I want to use but don't know how to size it so I don't get the error "to large" can you offer some advice???

You can use paint or almost any graphic editor to reduce the image size. Generally it is the image size that you want to manipulate. Reduce it down to 150x150 or slightly less. If you are having a hard time post a link to the picture here and I'll reduce it and repost it tomorrow morning.

Here are the avatar requirements:

90 pixels by 90 pixels in size.

Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 50 KB.

And the personal photo requirements:

150 x 150 pixels

No larger than 100 KB.

I will also offer help for anyone having trouble resizing. Just email me the image and I'll hook ya up.
