Marcel.F
Interesting. Is there some particular need for screen doors on a cabinet, or just aesthetics? It's something my sister seen on Pintress. Since she's paying for it. She's the almighty dictator.
wdwerker
why stain it ? Just wave a torch over the surface and darken the wood that way. Don't get too close or you will put a smile on way too many faces around here !
wtnhighlander
I like Steve's idea! Torching the rough surface, then waxing while it is still warm, produces an awesome look, very black.
Marcel.F
I spent the weekend with my finishing the finish, hanging the doors and installing the corrugated backing to the upper unit. It's just missing a few coats of Polly for protection then it's ready for delivery. Marcel.F
Very nice, Marcel! Really old-school! Thanks. My sister is happy and I got 10 stakes and 20 Italian sausage out of the deal. Cheap labour but I don't care.
Chestnut
That looks great! I really enjoy it when i walk into a store and see a display that doesn't look commercially made. It seems like that's becoming more and more rare though. I guess i also don't go to stores that often either
