Probably using 1/2" Baltic birch for the drawers and 3/4 Baltic for the case. we all cant be like Kev and have walnut in our shop furniture haha .... even though one day that is a goal of mine
bleedinblue
I built my drum sander cabinet with full intentions of doing cherry drawer fronts...then when the time came for them I just couldn't bring myself to do it. For at least one set of drawers I would have had to mill the fronts down to less than a half an inch to be flush with the trim...poor planning as usual...and I couldn't stomach the waste work. In the end it looks perfectly mediocre with plywood fronts...for shop furniture. If it were house furniture I'd burn it down and start from scratch. wdwerker
One of my outfeed tables is made from walnut commercial office doors . There was just enough nicks and dings that they weren't suitable for any furniture grade project. Being shop furniture I think Baltic with clean sanded edges will last the life of the machine.
