mtairymd
My wife asked for a homemade votive candle holder for the holidays. Searching online, I found that the general design concept is a board with holes in a straight line. Since the desired design is for a holiday centerpiece on a table, I chose an octagon shape. We think it turned out very nice! My kids even gave it a "that's pretty cool" which is an upgrade over their comments on my previous projects :). CAD Files Build Started with a 4x4 Douglas Fir. Cut down to 2.5" x 3.5" Added V-Cut (Bird's Mouth) 1" slices Dry Fit Mark candle hole 1.5" Forstner Bit 8 Pieces Glue and ratchet strap I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks for Viewing!

I've made a few tables and planters using the same joints. 1 hour ago, I B said: Agreed, very cool design. Looks like square Pac-mans, err... Pac-men? Pac-mens? My kids thought it looked like a gear 1 hour ago, pkinneb said: Nice! Thanks

Coop
When your kids compliment you on a Woodworking project that’s not a toy, always good! Neat looking dude!

Neat looking dude! Thanks. Yes, it's rare for them to compliment my wood working projects. The actually run from the puzzles :).
