noshopbob
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong site. Feel free to move it. I'm looking for someone in Sacramento area that has a Band Saw and can resaw a board for me. The board is 6" wide x 50" long x 7/8 thick. I just need it resawn to 7/16 thick minus the blade thickness. Can anyone help?
pkinneb
Keep in mind once resawn and flattened you will most likely end up with two 1/4" thick boards. Just want to make sure your expectations are realistic and will work for your project.
wdwerker
1/4" boards are a realistic expectation. 5/16 would be the best case possible but don't get your hopes up too much. The resulting pieces could also warp or twist. It's better to go into it with your eyes open.
curlyoak
a 6" board can be resawn on a 10" table saw. Blade is 3" max up. Several passes depending on the motor...If the board is real straight hope for 1/4" The longer the piece the less you get depending on flatness. Ronn W
Check online for a wood working group or public shop where you can rent time. Great way to meet woodworkers and chances are someone will resaw that for you.
