Saw-Loco Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 I've been working with wood for over 30 years, but most of that time was to fix and repair. I just started doing real stuff (everything from small turnings to furniture) about three years ago.' My wife keeps telling me I need to figure out what I want to specialize in, but everything I make, I enjoy and see potential to get better at. (ok, sometimes a lot better at.) Found this site, and I am impressed with the quality of projects displayed, and the character of the members that respond. A lot of encouragement, Very impressive, So hopefully, I can learn a lot, and finally figure out what I want to specialize in, but I think it will be anything made with wood. Quote
pkinneb Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 Welcome!! One thing I do on almost every project is a new technique or process I love learning new things. Bottom line in my world its awesome to not specialize Quote
Tom King Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 Welcome. I specialize in not specializing. Quote
wdwerker Posted October 18, 2018 Report Posted October 18, 2018 Welcome ! I also don't specialize that much but I have learned what kind of situations to walk away from. Insurance work like fire & water damage. Client wants it a perfect match, insurance company won't pay enough, I get stuck in the middle. No thanks. Quote
