Mark J
I bought a L-N low angle block plane a few months ago. Am I right in believing that I spent enough money on it that I don't have to flatten the back of the blade, or the sole before I use it?
Tpt life
Always good to verify. They stand behind the QC process and will work with you if anything is off. Irons come sharp enough to use, but not as sharp as possible. Does that answer enough for you?
pkinneb
I would not expect to have to touch the sole (it would get returned) but I would polish the back for the blade. I usually do an 1" or so up. 1
Robby W
I bought that plane..it only took a few minutes to polish the back as it was all ready flat. A few more minutes to put a microbevel on the front and good to go. It is always best to have two polished surfaces meeting at the edge. 1
