Reelikan
Hey! We did our house exterior with larch wood and stone. Larch was processed with iron sulphate and now there’s a problem. Sun dries the wood and leaves the white substance on surface, and when it rains it washes off leaving orange stains everywhere. How can we maintan the nice grey/brown iron sulphate colour and get rid of the white/orange substance what comes out of the larch? It is ruining our exterior stones ☹️ Can somebody give some useful advice?
Chestnut
Call the manufacturer or the processor of the siding you used. They make have a recommendation to remove staining that results. If it's iron it's not likely to be easy. Best recommendation is to stop the water from draining on to the stone from the wood siding. wtnhighlander
Is the wood siding not covered with any clear topcoat / sealer to prevent water from leaching chemicals from the wood?
bradpotts
^ I was wondering the same thing.
