Popular Post curlyoak
The left side that slides was a little sticky. The allen wrench was not mounted in a handle and was small. I decided to order a 3/32" allen with a handle. Easier to make a lot of adjustments on the cams in the sliding bar. That made it easier to do the work. It still had a lull more friction than I wanted so I lubed the slot and the table with spray silicon and works great. I know many here shun silicon because of finishing issues. That has never been my experience. Sanding gets rid of it for me. I use silicon on my thickness planer bed. Frequently. A large run may require an additional application in the middle of the run.
Popular Post curlyoak
The black handled hex came with the 1000 and 5000. The small Alan came with the 5000. it is used to adjust the cams in the slide. It was worth waiting for the 3/32 with a handle. I started to adjust the cams with the small alan. That is when I ordered the one on the right. What a difference!!! Even though it will not be used much it is worth getting.
legenddc
Couldn't agree more. I was using a folding hex key for all of the adjustments. I just bought the Wera 3/16 one since I didn't have the Incra one. Makes it so much nicer to use. I'll be buying the additional sizes for it soon. Askland09
My dad and I just bought an Incra 1000SE and decided we need another hex key. Mainly due to the fact we're notorious for leaving the adjustment tools in our pockets and taking them away from its home . 1
legenddc
That's why I bought a bright green handle screwdriver that doesn't roll. I'll come up with a way to store them on the gauge or when I figure out a way to mount the sled somewhere I'll include storage there. Popular Post Chestnut
I'll drop these again as I have 2, one on my band saw one on the table saw. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ54HLM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 They are an amazing help and get used daily. Yes they catch sawdust. I usually just hit them with compressed air to clean them once every 6 months.
wtnhighlander
Small neodinium magnets are great for keeping adjestment tools attached to the machine they service. I use several of the 1/4" disk magnets that HF sells for such things.
curlyoak
This is the bottom of the stationary side. It locks in the table saw groove by turning the alan from the other side. I have heard criticism because it is not as nice as the insert on the sliding piece. I am glad they used the aluminum on the stationary side as it does the job and we would have to pay more for no benefit. This is a very accurate way to crosscut. Over 23". At that number it is not fully supported but the end has wings the fit in the groove of the table saw. The results were accurate and repeatable. I am glad I own it. It is now the best way in my shop to make true square cuts.
