Popular Post Tom King
With the current heat wave especially, it's worth cleaning your AC condenser coils. I just cleaned the condenser on our mini-split, and it feels like it's making ice now. This stuff works plenty good enough. Take the top off by taking out a few screws, foam the coils inside and out, let it sit for ten minutes, rinse with a water hose, and put the top back on. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007I7KZN0?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_k0_1_8&=&crid=3TSVTGDMN7NGV&=&sprefix=coil+cle It really is that simple. Don't touch the coil fins. Not only are they fairly easy to damage, but they're often sharp enough to slice skin at the slightest touch.
Coop
Good reminder. The video shows a comparison of the temp at intake vs exhaust. Is there a comparison ratio for cfm?
Jfitz
Great video. We just sparked up our new AC systems and I was thinking that the 'exhaust' air out the top was not much warmer than ambient. It makes sense that this is a good thing.
legenddc
I think my coils are clean but I'll have to go measure the temperature now. As always, thanks for the tip!
