BillyJack
We have reached the point the grand daughter needs a storage cabinet. Looking at the sheet goods at Menards. They have 3/4×4×8 sanded utility plywood. Can you think of anything else to use that will paint cheaply for under $65 a sheet?
BillyJack
I’ve got to find a good deal on 15” full extension Drawer guides
BillyJack
I ended up buying 14”” full extension drawer guides from Amazon. Box of 10 pr, $45.. Still undecided on a face frame.
JohnG
Last time I bought cheap guides on Amazon they ended up in the trash can. Would have been cheaper to just buy the good guides from the start. Hope you have better luck.
BillyJack
We use a lot of generics in the cabinet industry without problems.. Only ones I’ve had problems with are the KV’s Why I try and stay away from the smaller ball bearing drawer guides.. A lot of time function has to do with installation.. BillyJack
Drawer guides came in. Look to be alright, came with screws. Normally when we buy these on the shop , they will come with no packaging or screws.

BillyJack
I do not like flat head screws for these full extension and will look for truss screws for adjustment..
BillyJack
Thinking about making the trip to Menards for materials this morning for materials and not I’m debating on whether to make this a one pice or two piece cabinet. These days a 6’ cabinet is harder and harder to move around my cluttered shop..
BillyJack
I picked up sanded plywood at Menards. Looks like luan from the day. Over $60:a sheet.
BillyJack
Bought 2 sheets of 3/4, but will need 1 more. I was not impressed with their 1/2 so I decided to use 3/4. Another $60 I guess.
BillyJack
Hoping to start this morning. I’ve got a real concern for cross cutting this plywood. Luan has a problem with splintering. Hopefully a new blade will help with this..

BillyJack
I had kidney problems after I got off the machine this morning. Could be from lifting something heavy, etc. Hopefully I’m back out there tomorrow.
BillyJack
The doctor had me start taking a double dose of blood pressure medicine starting the first of this week. I think this is why I feel sluggish and won’t work in the shop. I keep saying maybe tomorrow, but I’m still not ready to put a day in..

BillyJack
Didn’t see it, was covered by toys. There was an outlet 19” from the corner.. I’ll have to cut a 6”x6” hole in the back and make the drawer 1”:shorter in depth. Trying to decide of I want power in the shelf unit for recharging.. Tom King
I think the first gallon of Rain Refresh I bought was around 90. Will be interesting to see how well it works. So far, I've had nothing but good luck and praise for their chemistry, and I don't expect anything different.
BillyJack
I wanted Cashmere, but it eas higher and the only place I use White is in the grand daughters bedroom. I didn’t want to waste half a gallon, so I got my exterior white so I can use it on my exterior trim. If I get the room on next year, I hope to paint my house one last time. . The body has held up well, the trim needs touch up..

Popular Post BillyJack
Hopefully get the final coat on the outside of the drawers. Base is finished awaiting hardware. Because the drawer fronts are inset, I’ll cut them last and fit . I’ll be at the doctors Thursday and will get more plywood to complete the open bookcase at Menards Years ago a co worker offered me a L series 3/8 stapler for $5. Said the nose flap would open each time it fired. Bought it and cleaned out the bearing that were dirty on the flap and it now works fine. When Overland tool went out of business, I bought two large cases of staples for the gun. Amazing what $5 can get you
