Just to help out I will say that I have the larger bevel up smoother as well as the low angle smoothing plane shown.  I use both but find I reach for the one pkinneb is offering more often.

I don't use my kerf maker often but when I do it's a great asset to have. That's a good find cause they are made in china now.

I have this plane as well.  I bought blade with a 50 deg bevel on it for a total of 62 deg.  I can plane funky grain with no tear out if I keep the depth of cut to a minumum.
