Popular Post thewalnutguy
One of the box elders at the endge of my property was leaning badly about a year ago, and the stress on the trunk caused it to buckle, creating an open split. Then the weight of the wet snow on the trunk widened the split considerably. It seemed to me that there should be some way to take advantage of this unusual split, then got to thinking it might be two dragons dueling, if only they had teeth. I'd been sawing some of the downed box elders to get them into pieces that could be handled and fed into the big chipper, so I cut one section into 5/4 thick boards and used those for teeth. 7
