kbrunco
Is there an easy way to remove a bathroom counter top without tearing up all the cabinet work. I can only see 4 screws that may be holding it down, but I believe the top (MDF) has been glued to the cabinet structure (oak, oak/plywood). I am afraid it may take chunks with it. Any help is much appreciated.
Southwood
I would remove the screws and see for sure if it is glued or not. Betting it may not be glued. Just pull the screws and gently try and lift it up.
wdwerker
You can use a strong magnet to locate any hidden fasteners. I have systematically and carefully destroyed the countertop to prevent damage to the cabinet. Once you know there are no nails or screws an oscillating saw blade like a Fein Multimaster will cut between the cabinet and countertop. A sabre saw or sawzall might work if you are careful. rodger.
If there is any caulking between the wall and counter, make sure you cut it with a knife before attempting a removal.
kbrunco
And the answer is: Cut away caulking, remove screws, and then use a 3-ton floor jack and ~24-in board to push with.
