Coop
Doc, that is just too cool. Personally, I would rather have a good heater than an a/c, even where I live. How did you come about choosing this one? It's gas fired?
Mzdadoc
Yes it's gas fired. My previous house had one installed when I built the house and it proved to be a great choice. The thermostat is by the door going into the house.
Mzdadoc
Also notice the Sonos 1 in the corner..... I had the electrician put outlets up high in all four corners for speakers.
Coop
Right now, I make my own music in the winter with my teeth chattering and knees knocking. With a heater like that, a speaker system would certainly be a consideration!
Keggers
Just had my heater installed today to make WW a year round hobbie.image.jpg Now you can spray some dry lubricant on your floor and have an indoor heated skating rink! Just a thought......
davestanton
I am in the middle of winter at the moment and definitely need to install the AC I purchased a few months back.Good to see you will be ready when the cold hits the northern hemisphere. RichardA
Yeah, heat would be good....come to think of it, A/C would be good, then more room, then more tools, then more wood then more time.. Hell, I could go on for hours! But I won't... good thinking doc!
estesbubba
You're going to love that heater. Mine will take my shop from 40 to 60 in about 30 minutes then run about 9 minutes every 45 minutes after that. When the propane company ran my line they said the Hot Dawg's are very popular for shops.
elrodk
Great addition. Congrats!
estesbubba
That blower also makes a great fan in the summer. I messed around adjusting my louvers to different positions and found this the best. Adjust the top slightly down, the bottom a lot down, then the others progressively in between. This throws heat consistently clear across the shop with no cold spots.

tim0625
Doc, that is just too cool. Personally, I would rather have a good heater than an a/c, even where I live. How did you come about choosing this one? It's gas fired? Richard....he's from Texas and his brain is officially fried....we need to go get him to a facility. Congrats doc on the heater.....in the land of God's frozen chosen, you really need it. My daughter was funny...she did an internship over the last year close to Minneapolis. The first few weeks, she's sending me videos of her driving in the snow, snowboarding, and the beautiful goose down snow flakes that fall so slowly...it was beautiful. After about two months of the low or below temps, she calls and said that she was officially tired of snow and the frigid weather. I said yeah you and 10 million others! Last year, my HVAC man called me and said he'd found me a used heat pump for my detached, 2 car, garage shop.....it's 3 tons. Yup...I can heat and cool. Unlike the guy from TEXAS and you doc.....I need more AC than heater!!!

And there's no facility that will accept him!
