Llama
Here's something I do around Christmas time. Never to this degree, but I do it. I was asked to participate in a craft fair fundraiser for my oldest sons music program. I said yes, and even offered to donate an item for the raffle. Well, here they are. Think of these as baby reindeer. And oh my goodness, my bandsaw made short work of these guys! Cut through that stack of bubinga like butter! Also some flame maple for a bit of contrast. Here's what they look like when finished.
TRBaker
Neat project, Mel. I couldn't help but think that with a slight modification, you could make an over and under slingshot.
Llama
Some of my friends tell me to make a huge one as a guitar stand.

Andrew Pritchard
I've got a small herd of bandsaw reindeer made from scraps of construction 2x4s I had left over from the house renos. Still need to finish sanding them and then deciding on a finish
G S Haydon
Paul Sellers has been blogging on starting out on your own, I think these make a great project for that. They are great! I can imagine people at craft fairs picking these up no problem. Nice job Mel!
Llama
Thanks for all of the comments/feedback and the suggestions for making a slingshot This will be the first test for these in public. I've sold some online, but never face to face. I plan on bringing around 20-30.
G S Haydon
Mel, tried looking for a video on this and none of them had the charm of yours, could you do a vid of you making one or link to one that inspired you? It would be a neat stocking filler/decoration for my kids.

I have to figure out the best way to film it. I'm sure y'all don't want to see me sanding.

Andrew Pritchard
Here's my current herd of (formerly) 2x4 reindeer. I need to do some sanding, especially between the legs and antlers.
Llama
These remind me of the bandsaw magic ones. Very nice!
Andrew Pritchard
I got the design from Matthias Wandel. The second from the left is the first one I did - can you tell
