Popular Post ChetlovesMer
Okay, I've been gone a while. Quick update, since I've last posted I've knocked out a daybed, a built-in, and an over-the-toilet cabinet. That combined with a what I thought was going to be a health issue kept me too busy to post out here. I have what's called bicuspid aortic valve disease. It's a deformity in the heart valve that affects about 1% of the population. (You can google it if you are interested in it. Sometimes called BAVD.) Anyway, I have had this my whole life so I never really think about it, until my last echo showed a decrease in heart efficiency. Up until now, all of my testing has shown my heart to be about 75% efficient as compared to a "normal" heart. My last echo showed it to be about 50%. So, I figured for sure that they were going to want to replace that valve with a plastic ball valve. Therefore, I cleared my schedule to prepare for the 6-10 minimum weeks of recovery associated with that procedure. However, after my consolation with my "Heart" guy. He said, "Eh' we really don't need to make a move on that valve until the efficiency drops to around 30% or you turn 50 or so, which ever comes first." Cool, so I get to keep my valve for at least another 7 years or so. Or at least that's the way I read it. So, the long and short of it is, I'm back in the shop and back on the forum.

Byrdie
I believe the saying goes, "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Sounds like it at least had you doing a bunch of woodworking. Glad to have you back and looking forward to seeing the evidence in the Project Showcase.
