Hello from central AZ

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

My name is Frank.

I'm 64, drive a Prius, don't eat meat and have a grey, thinning ponytail.

Yer basic old rural hippy type.

: )

I've earned my living doing woodworking of all sorts for the past 40 years.

Half of those 40 years was spent in Door County, Wisc. doing cabinet making, furniture, carpentry and home accessories (thousands of cutting boards, jewelry boxes, weed pots, etc.)

The other 20 years has been spent in Cordes Lakes, AZ. making modern mixed media lamps and stuff which are sold in art/craft galleries and on ETSY.

I still have ten fingers !

Thanks for the welcome.

I look forward to participating in the forum discussions.

Other than the normal woodworking stuff I have quite a bit of experience spraying water-based finishes with HVLP systems.

I'm currently using a Turbinaire turbine/gun.

I've also spent many hours in front of a lathe.

I'm currently using a General 26020 variable speed wood lathe and a TAIG mini metal/wood lathe.

I have no pics of the pre-digital-camera-era woodworking I used to do in Wisconsin but I have a website showing the items I've made since moving to AZ. It's pretty weird but it pays the bills. http://highdesertdreams.com/

Steve ... although my old Prius can haul a surprising amount I have a T-100 for the heavy loads.

Frank, welcome to the forum. Yep, 60's and early 70's were some times to brag about! I'll beat my grandkids if they try to replicate, well maybe only my granddaughter. I went to your site, would really like to see more of the entire pieces?

Heyya Mr. Cooper,

To see more of entire pieces, go here ... http://highdesertdreams.com/html_MAIN_pages/portfolio.html ... and click on the category you want to see more of. To see the real thing, I believe this Texas store might still have some of my lamps in stock ... http://www.copenhagenliving.com/where-buy/san-antonio/
