In defense of pocket screws

1920's??? c'mon man you expect me to believe that? I look at a pocket joint and it has 1970's engineering written all over it.

I found so-called "pocket screws" in 1920's case goods furniture we have in our house.

They have been in constant use since then - nothing new, just visit your local Ikea store.

in regards to the tacky-ness. like i said...they are very 70's...

I know they are strong, I know they are fast, and I know they work well for many things.

I just cannot get over my aversion to them, and I don't know why. I think they are tacky beyond belief.

But then, my income doesn't rely on quick and fast case assemblies, either.
