Veritas Concave Spokeshave

It works great!

I've had it for a while, and hadn't even taken it out of the box before today.

I needed to shape a wooden form for some "Origami" transition pieces for a standing seam roof I'm working on, where the standing seam meets the lower skylight curbs that are being formed by the roofing pans-more on that after the installation is complete.  The form needed to be a model, in the exact size, of the finished standing seams on the roof.   I put together two mating parts out of the scrap pile, and marked the profile on a scrap piece of wood.   The shaping was done with a block plane, and the Veritas Concave Spokeshave.

I just used it right out of the box.  It was very easy to adjust, and held it's setting fine.  The factory "sharpening" kind of put my teeth on edge, but it was plenty good enough for this job.

It's very much more comfortable, and easier to adjust, than the old cast iron type.

I like it a lot.
