TPG
I've reviewed many mortising tools, any suggestions on what's good or not good?

Wimayo
I usually hog out most of the mortise with the drill press and then clean it up using the router table. I may cut tenons on either the router table or table saw.
Tom King
I cut some with a utility knife, and a dull 1/4" chisel a couple of days ago. Workbench was the kitchen table while the 92 year old woman, that I was doing a favor for, was fixing lunch.
TPG
Has anyone tried the ones you attach to your drill press?
Tom King
I used a Delta drill press attachment for decades, before I ever bought a dedicated mortising machine. The drill press setup works okay, but it takes time to get it all in place, and then you can't use the drill press for regular holes until it's all taken off. I only used the drill press setup once a year, making cabinets for spec houses I built, and it wasn't so bad then. I'd hate to have to put it on, and off, for small projects. Byrdie
I have the Delta drill press attachment and would echo Tom's comments. I add that I have a bench top drill press and there can be issues with putting mortises into deeper material.
KenMasco
I got this idea on Utube. I use a plunge router with a down cut spiral bit. it doesn't' work in all mortising situations but it's the perfect tool (IMO) most of the time
