wehope
Options for a dado blade for my Hammer are somewhat limited. The Forrest Dado King or the Felder dado blade. I decided to go with the 6” Forrest blade as it was more like what I was used to, and a bit cheaper (relatively) This video shows what you get, how to mount the blade and a sample cut. https://youtu.be/EbeGKe30cfk
curlyoak
Was there 8" dado's available? I find that size more useful.

I have an 8” dado but I can’t imagine ever using it at a height that a 6” dado set couldn’t handle. The hammer won’t have this issue, but for my little saw would definitely prefer the torque advantage from a 6” dado over the 8”.

Making large bridle joints like the ones in the conoid table used every inch my 8" blade offered. my 1.75 hp saw was handling full width full height cuts just fine. Ok maybe not just fine it complained but it did it. Otherwise yes i never use more than 1/2" of the dado blade.
curlyoak
I made a bunch of kitchen doors with a bridle joint using my 8" frueid carbide dado. I have had it for decades. Sharpened many times.
wehope
While I could have gotten an 8", if you notice in the video, the tabs for the throat insert and the motor pivot mount would prevent using the full height and I'm sure I'd misjudge how high I could go and wreak the blade.
BillyJack
Rarely does anybody use the max of height. Even on a bridle joint I only use one blade. Year ago I figured out dado blades are kool, but there are other ways to get most things done.
wehope
I had a request to discuss the DeWalt track clamp that I use on my sliding table. So here's a video that covers that and compares it to the Felder clamp that I also use:
