BillyJack
Anybody familiar with these. $35 in my area. Ground contact is a 1/3 the price, but these sound long term...
BonPacific
This kind of thing? It's been a few years, and may not have been the same product, but I have used these once. What's the intended use? They don't look great visually in my opinion if you're planning a raised bed or something. Better than creosote timber but that's about it, and at least the ones I used didn't deal well with the elements visually (UV damage/bleaching and warping). Also keep in mind that the chips are plastic and won't just blend into a lawn or gravel like wood (even PT), so you want to be sure if you're cutting it is somewhere you can vacuum or sweep. BillyJack
I have to fence two sides of the house for the dog and grandaughter. Does not rot or decay...
Tom King
What does "non-structural" mean? This is the first I've seen of them. I do have a use for them, replacing some end of life railroad ties, but I haven't seen them around here.

BillyJack
It says "fencing" , but says non structural. It's not being specific to what ... Being the ground good, warping is a no good. Will it snap in wind?
Tom King
I'm wondering about holding fasteners, and maybe drooping. No Menards anywhere near me. I checked Lowes and Home Depot online. HD can get them, but I don't need them this badly. https://www.homedepot.com/p/BestPLUS-4-in-x-4-in-x-8-ft-Black-Recycled-Plastic-Lumber-Timber-Edging-G-Grade-2-Per-Box-BP547016451/315518408?g_store=&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D59H-Multi-NA-LEVOLOR-NA-SMART-NA-NA-MK111111111-111111111-BT3-1976-CON-NA-NA&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-RM-RMP-GGL-D59H-Multi-NA-LEVOLOR-NA-SMART-NA-NA-MK111111111-111111111-BT3-1976-CON-NA-NA-71700000097259688-58700007902180424-92700071862301790&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz96WBhC8ARIsAATR253RFj3mVOhVDj1tPWiA6zxz8BMx2Ov6xNOZCaQwH0pyNXY3MYEl_FAaAsPhEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
BonPacific
I get the feeling it's too heavy/not rigid enough for fencing use. If you compare the Trex fencing systems, they're hollow and built more like angle iron/channel.
BillyJack
The problem is if it can take wind. It snaps like a prezels or is pretty ridgid...
BillyJack
I'm unable to get information from the big box on this product. You have structural and non-structural and that tends to be a shaded area on somethings...
