Tom King
Install one of these in place of any condensate drain trap you have. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BMUFSGI?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
drzaius
Good idea. The drains can fill and clog with slime.
legenddc
I have one of those and I think I've pushed the brush through a couple of times in our 10 years of being here. Maybe we're just lucky but it's always seemed clean.
Tom King
I put one of these in them when I remember to. Hopefully around the end of June. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077QKXPVC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I have one that I always get a call around the end of June that it's stopped working. I know what the problem is. I keep a small ShopVac in that attic, and put a handtightened union in the drain line past the trap. I take the union apart, and suck whatever is blocking the trap out. Then I suck all the water out of the drain pan. Put the union back together, and take the top off that ShopVac so the water can evaporate by the next time I need to do it. I put one of these traps on that one, and a pack of the strips. Hopefully I'll get better at remembering to put one in beginning of Summers. Around here, it's not if, but when one will block. sjeff70
Wish I would've seen this a few months ago. Would have saved me a service call. I was looking for something like this but couldn't find anything on the internet. Google has really gotten bad. Thanks for posting Tom. I'll use this in my new house. gee-dub
Another Green Gobbler strip user here. Inexpensive preventative maintenance.
