Popular Post roughsawn Posted February 24 Popular Post Report Posted February 24 Don't really know what to call this spot, but it is in my garage where you come in from outside. I've been working on it for a couple months. Everything is 1" thick red oak, from trees that I have cut down, slabbed, stacked and dried, then milled in my shop to make the lumber for these projects. Never really kept a journal here on the forum, but...I started with the bin storage cabinet. After building and installing that, it was on to the live edge coat rack. This turned out especially nice. And finally, the sitting bench for taking off/changing shoes and boots. Oh, and just prior to the wood projects, my wife and I painted the 3 surrounding walls, and installed carpet. Everything got 2 coats of stain, and 4 coats of Satin poly. I'm sure I'll need a couple posts for the pictures. Bin storage first. 7 Quote

Popular Post roughsawn Posted September 14 Author Popular Post Report Posted September 14 Finally put the finishing touches on this project. Again, the vanity was made out of lumber from a tree that I cut down, slabbed, dried, and milled myself. 7 Quote
wtnhighlander Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 That has to be extremely satisfying, to build such a nice piece, from the tree up! 2 Quote
Mark J Posted September 15 Report Posted September 15 Well done! Where is the sink in relation to the coat rack? Quote
roughsawn Posted September 15 Author Report Posted September 15 It is to the left of the door, in the first picture. Where the sink is. I'm waiting for a pic to download, and I will include that as well. Quote
Ron Swanson Jr. Posted September 16 Report Posted September 16 @wtnhighlander took the exact words i was going to say right out of my mouth. But I'll say it anyway. That has to add a whole nother dimension of satisfaction, knowing that you milled the stock yourself. And the end result is stunning! 1 Quote
Popular Post roughsawn Posted September 16 Author Popular Post Report Posted September 16 After horsing around with files, pictures, and dropbox, I finally got some pics to download. Phew...technology. I thought the "cloud" was for rain. Well, here is my "nook". I also built a new landing, as there were just steps going into the back door. Thanks for the nice compliments, guys. 5 Quote
Mark J Posted September 17 Report Posted September 17 I do like the faucet on the sink. Amusing and functional. Quote
roughsawn Posted September 17 Author Report Posted September 17 It's what the yahoo plumber installed before I caught it. Just built the house 5 years ago. Heated garage, and interior wall. No chance of ever freezing. But he told me they put exterior faucets in garages. Not my first choice, but I've worked around it, and made it work. It does work pretty good for hooking up a hose to my pressure washer, tho. 1 Quote
