Vic
You'll have to excuse the shaking. Good thing I'm not a surgeon! http://tumblewood.blogspot.com/2012/06/tour-of-tumblewood.html (null)
davestanton
Thanks for the insight Vic. I love to be able to poke around other peoples space to pickup ideas for my own area. Looks like you need a bed out there.
fransikaner
A very nice tour, thanks for sharing Vic. Looks like you have a very comfortable, clean and logical flow that would be the envy of any woodworker. Are we possibly looking at a shop Walk-Off between you and Dave? Vic
Thanks guys. Dave, a bed?! It takes too much space. I can sleep on the bench. (null)
davestanton
Frank. My video walk through will be in a few months but it will definately come. Vic, the bench is a little high to kip on.
Vic
I look forward to the video Dave and, if I'm tired enough, the bench will do. No way I'm stealing the space of a bed in there. Hmm. Maybe a cot?! (null)
mds2
Very nice shop. I enjoyed the walkthrough, thanks!
Jim DaddyO
Yup, cool shop Vic! Instead of a cot, you could hang a hammock!
Vic
Thanks mds2 and Jim. Jim, I'm not big fan of hammocks, but yea, that would be a good alternative! Maybe a murphy cot. ;o)

Vic
No worries, Dave. If anyone has any work flow suggestions, I would live to hear them. (null)

Bobby Slack
Vic ... one of these days I will bug you about dust collection and filters. My festool stuff is perfect but my Metabo planer and lttle Bosch table saw are terrible. These two guys create a lot of bad dust. Nice to be able to store your plywood and hardwood inside your great workspace. I am going to store my wood outside the shop in a sort of outside closet which will be perfectly dry but ... I dont't have fourty acres in Redondo Beach ... lol
Vic
Anytime, Bobby. PM me and we can set up a Skype call, a G+ hangout, or an old fashioned phone call. (null)
Texfire
Nice setup Vic, great workflow. I'm in the process of building my shop layout, not sure how much I'll directly lift but hearing your reasons for your layout will help.
Vic
I just moved my tablesaw and am in the process of building the outfeed/assembly/bending/router table. I'll need to pull a new outlet for the bandsaw, as well as dust collection for that and a boom arm that will cover ops on this station and another gate for the new router table. jgfore
A really nice shop Vic. One of these days when I Grow-Up I want to have a shop like that. For now, I will have to continue to use my basement. I should attach a picture of my shop!! You would have nightmares if you hate dust. I have just nick named my shop....."Sawdust". Some days, you can not even tell if I have dirt floor or concrete. I really do hate the dust, which is why I have started buying Festool tools, but my router (Bosch) and table saw (Rigid) really do throw out the dust. I was just looking at the Oneida 3hp last night on the web. What made you decide on the Metal over PVC or flexable hose for your dust collection? Vic
Metal was just easier to assemble, especially in the crawl space, and easier to get the proper turns and Ys. I do have flex at each tool, but too much flex restricts airflow. I think metal has a slightly better airflow over PVC, too. I was spewing dust this week, as I rebuilt my tablesaw's off cut table. I had to use the tablesaw without the overarm blade guard. It was nasty! (null)
sbarton22
WOW!! Absolutely fantastic. One thing that is conspicuously missing is a refrigerator...you know...for quittin' time.
Vic
I'm 17' from the house AND a fridge takes up valuable floor space. (null)
