TerryMcK
No good for me but for those of you wood workers in Canada Alain Vaillancourt (The Woodpecker) has just done a comprehensive test on three battery drills. He shows the results in his Youtube feed. They all look good to me - wish we could get hold of Maximum drills in the UK.
shaneymack
Most Canadian tire "Mastercraft" branded stuff has always been fairly junky. Since they came out with the Maximum line, it seems to be a step up. I'm surprised you watch Alain's channel. I always get a good laugh watching his stuff but his woodworking skills are a little rough. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk

I actually enjoy his channel showing one guy in his shop, great enthusiasm and his trademark knock knock when he starts the videos.

I had to turn it off the other day when he was doing the hand cut dovetails for the water cabinet drawers. My ocd couldnt handle it. drzaius
Mastercraft hand and power tools aren't really worth the packages they come in, but the Mastercraft Maximum hand tools are pretty good. I haven't had any experience with the Maximum power tools though.
rodger.
as a general rule, i avoid mastercraft altogether.. mostly very low end tools, but they do have a few good items in their lineup. i am a believer in "you get what you pay for" when it comes to quality tools for the shop or kitchen. They carry A LOT of other stuff, Its a huge store. They don't only have mastercraft tools, they have Bosch, dewalt, Makita, Stanley, etc. Its a fun store to stroll around in. SawDustB
So, Canadian tire = Harbor Freight of the Great Frozen North??? No, that's princess auto. A lot of the master craft stuff is similar to craftsman. Think hardware store "house brand".

This! Love watching, one of the few channels my wife will watch with me, at least without giving the guy a "nickname" (she has one for most of the other guys). We especially like how he will talk about "the rat" at times, haha.
