New from UK

Hi I'm a weekend woodworker living in the UK (Devon). I make small furniture items in my garage, very slowly! Hoping that by joining this forum it might inspire me to ’work’ a little faster. Main tools are a small table saw, a small 1/4 inch router, a bench top planer and jointer, separate not combined. And a small selection of hand tools some old some new.

My current project is a kingsize bed based upon a design by John Bullar; picture of footboard attached. I started this April 2012, for a variety of reasons time spent on this has been a bit hit or miss. It’s the biggest thing I've tried making and the first time I've cut mortise and tenons by hand (never again). The length of the pieces has also proven a challenge. However despite a little disappointment with fit of some of the slats and lower rail to posts I'm quite pleased so far. Always open to feedback but please be gentle.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know people on this forum and hope in some small way I can contribute.

Beautiful!  Welcome to the forum.  I love it that we are getting more and more people from the UK.  Now, if I could just hear all of you talk.  :)
