Darren66
Hi I'm a weekend woodworker living in the UK (Devon). I make small furniture items in my garage, very slowly! Hoping that by joining this forum it might inspire me to ’work’ a little faster. Main tools are a small table saw, a small 1/4 inch router, a bench top planer and jointer, separate not combined. And a small selection of hand tools some old some new. My current project is a kingsize bed based upon a design by John Bullar; picture of footboard attached. I started this April 2012, for a variety of reasons time spent on this has been a bit hit or miss. It’s the biggest thing I've tried making and the first time I've cut mortise and tenons by hand (never again). The length of the pieces has also proven a challenge. However despite a little disappointment with fit of some of the slats and lower rail to posts I'm quite pleased so far. Always open to feedback but please be gentle. I’m really looking forward to getting to know people on this forum and hope in some small way I can contribute.

mkirby
Hi Darren, We seem to attract more southern woodworkers from the UK. Maybe us northeners are still in hibernation 10 degrees in the sun today brrrr You will love it here.
Darren66
Hi G S Haydon: I'm just outside Exeter. Mkirby: thanks not sure it's much warmer here today and windy would be an understatement.

PaulMarcel
Welcome to the forum! What's funny for me is that I have an email list of 6 woodworkers all in the north of England and the UK. Maybe you're on to something, maybe they can't do forums, but can do email!
