Resolve your inaccurate feed path and you will solve this. On 5/27/2016 at 7:49 PM, Ronn W said: Your pieces are long enough so that the leading edge is off the outfeed table as the center of the board nears the cutter head. Because the board is concave down it tends to lower itself farther onto the blade as the leading edge continues past the end oi the outfeed table. Very well described. You can also get this problem from an outfeed table that is a bit too high but, this condition is usually noticed immediately by making the leading edge hang up as it passes the cutterhead. Like the tablesaw, the jointer only cuts straight. If the material is not fed straight past the cutter an irregular cut results. Your work has to be fully supported for the entire path to assure the portion at the cutterhead follows that same plane. Another form of a bad feed path is show below:
Shaun Guthrie
Nice diagram, puts it into perspective. I'm doing another session with the joiner and have some longer boards and as long as I have my extra support I'm golden. Thanks again everyone, this has made things a lot easier!!
