Popular Post pd711
The day job is a bit slow this week so I had some time to knock out a couple of improvements long over due. Flip top Planer/sander cart. Not sure where I originally saw this design but I think quite a few people have used it. Crosscut sled. Kind of a hybrid between the James King and James Hamilton designs.
Chestnut
That's 1 serious sled. Like the table saw.
Pwk5017
Yeah, that sled is one of the better ones ive seen. What does the stop telescope to?
shaneymack
Nice sled ! Shop upgrades are always fun. Every time I upgrade or add something like this to my shop I always wonder what took me so long . Same here. I had the T tracks and accessories for the sled sitting in the corner for months.
Coop
Indeed a neat week. I just made the same flip top and it’s darn handy. The sled is top notch too but a word of warning, 3 years ago when I made my 3/4”ply sled, it weighed approx 4 lbs. or so. Now it weighs close to 50 lbs. Yeah, it's a bit on the heavy side but not too bad. Once it's on the saw it slides nicely. 11 hours ago, Pondhockey said: That's a sled and a half! lol, I went with a sled on steroids to be able to get rid of a dedicated miter saw station long the other side wall. I plan to put the miter saw on a cart with collapsible wings.

fcschoenthal
I noticed on your sled that there is a dado kerf that has been cut. Do you have another 0 clearance insert piece to use for that? Catco
Looks great! I first saw the flip top over on Fix This Build That. It used to be a free plan, but now it's a paid plan. But if you see the write up you can figure out how it all fits together and such.
