Ronn W Posted August 3, 2018 Report Share Posted August 3, 2018 I just opened my new Whiteside rabbet bit with several bearings for depth of cut. I was cutting a 1/8" deep x 3/4" wide dados in poplar as practice cuts. Smooth as silk. Then I tried the same cut in end grain poplar. The blade caught the wood and the router noise changed to an angry load growl. Turns out that one of the 2 carbide tips was gone. Not cracked or chipped, just gone. I happened to find the tip sitting on top of a piece of wood about 3 feet away the next morning. Ronn W Posted August 5, 2018 Author Report Share Posted August 5, 2018 I contacted the seller thru E-Bay and they agreed to replacing the bit and all its various beatings.
