Popular Post difalkner
A friend asked if I could make a finger labyrinth for his son. I grabbed a photo off the Internet, did some modifications, and cut this out of Maple for him. It's about 11.5" diameter and finished in Nitrocellulose lacquer. Coop
Thanks for sharing. That is really cool. Just curious, could the cnc not have separated it instead of using the band saw?

If I had used blue tape and CA glue then yes, I would have done it that way. The tabs are small and easy to trim on something like this so it's just quick and easy to use tabs.

Just curious of you thought process of using tabs over CA/blue tape. I tend to use CA/Blue tape to avoid cutting and cleaning up the tabs. For one sided pieces most times I am not screwing or clamping, just tape. Don't take this wrong way - We would both accomplish the same thing just differently.

If the tabs are easy to get to for sanding/cutting off then tabs are fine. But if it's a piece that small or with lots of outer profile curves then CA/blue tape is definitely the way to go. Sometimes the piece has voids and I can run a screw or two in to hold it in place to cut without tabs. I've cut about 500 Longworth chucks this way.
