Popular Post Ron Swanson Jr.
This is my first attempt at making tools. I got fed up with the screw on my chip breakers getting mangled by regular flathead screwdrivers. And i just can't bring myself to spend $50 or whatever the going rate is for a fancy one. . So I found a piece of steel that's the right thickness and came out with this. I don't have a lathe so it's a little primitive looking but it gets the job done.

Tom King
Looks good to me. I use the LV one, but since it stays out on my sharpening sink, it would be better to be made from stainless steel with a synthetic handle. Thanks. This gives me some good ideas. I just happened to have a piece of scrap steel that was the right thickness and width laying around so it was kind of a happy accident. But a very similar solution I've found for my smaller chip breaker screws is to use the blade on a stiff putty knife. It works very well!
