Popular Post gee-dub Posted February 23, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted February 23, 2024 I crave your pardon if you actually use this method in a sports situation since I may be murdering it . I have had a few folks comment on the tape-wrap for my clamp handles so here you go (many YT videos of professionals doing this better than I do). Tag the tape to the handle and spin the roll to create a "rope". Wind the rope around the handle in a spiral from the tag to the opposite end. Cover the rope spiral in flat tape (this is one continuous run of tape). Complete the covering operation and wind back a wrap or two before cutting off from the roll. Ta-Da! 4 Quote
Popular Post krtwood Posted February 23, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted February 23, 2024 Slight hijack but here's my alternative Epoxy a bolt into the handle and use a driver or ratchet to tighten to your heart's content. Allows you to go nuts on the clamp even if you've got them tight up against each other. 3 Quote
drzaius Posted February 24, 2024 Report Posted February 24, 2024 Thanks for posting. I'm getting to the point where my hands are getting a bit arthritic and this will make things easier. Quote
pkinneb Posted February 26, 2024 Report Posted February 26, 2024 I learned this from Rob Cosman several years back and it works great!! Having said that @gee-dub you know you can by red hockey tape right? Sorry my OCD 1 Quote
SimonR Posted February 27, 2024 Report Posted February 27, 2024 you probably want to stick (pun intended) to white hockey tape the coloured one (especially the black tends to shed for a lack of a better word gooey and slightly abrasive residue a lot more. That stuff eats through the leather palm of hockey gloves so I'd hate to have any transferred to a freshly glued panel Quote

I have not noticed (yet) the black transfer or other problems. I do however know well enough to take a Canucks recommendation regarding anything hockey over my tenuous SoCal understanding of the topic . P.s. I use the term Canuck with all due respect. I understand it can sometimes be used in a derogatory manner. Not my meaning . . . at all. 1 Quote
