Popular Post curlyoak Posted June 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted June 5, 2024 Buy it once and it will be replaced for life. Years ago I had a 12' that the spring broke. I sent it back and received a 10' with an apology because they stopped making the 12'. Yesterday I got in the mail my 16' replacement. It got here quick. They must have mailed it the same day I called. I had the 16' at least 20 years. This and other reasons make me a customer of Stanley! 3 Quote

Mark J Posted June 5, 2024 Report Posted June 5, 2024 I wonder if that policy applies to screwdrivers and such? 2 Quote
Tom King Posted June 6, 2024 Report Posted June 6, 2024 I never knew that either. I've worn out quite a number of them over the years and have a fair number in use every day. Quote
gee-dub Posted June 6, 2024 Report Posted June 6, 2024 I have a Stanley tape from my college days stuck on a magnet near one of the bandsaws. Still going . . . I love when we used to make stuff. 1 Quote

A number of tool companies have moved some manufacturing back to USA or have kept at least a few products here over the years. Even Harbor Freight has been increasing their Made in USA tools. Most Stanley hand tools have a lifetime warranty, limited (on paper) to material and workmanship defects. Some companies use “wear and tear” as an excuse to reject most warranty claims. Stanley’s warranty says that excessive wear is not covered, but it’s good to hear that they might not use that as a blanket exception. 3 Quote
