collinb
I'm going to re-do our front hall closet. We've looked online at some layouts that are really nice. what I don't want to do is build a monster "unit" that has to be slid into place. I could. But I don't want to. What I would like to do is measure and drill and use the cam & stud system like the cheap kits do. But I would also be using a good plywood to get a better end product.Anyone here use that approach? Does it work well with plywood like it seems to with particle products?
BuilderBill
Are you sure you're not overthinking this a bit? It's a hall closet all said and done....

SawDustB
I've used the cam and stud systems with plywood and they work fine. Are you sure it wouldn't be easier just to use pocket screws then assemble it and place and use plugs? Unless you think you're going to take it apart, the knock down systems might be more trouble than they're worth.

Andy Wright
Cam and Stud will work fine with plywood (better than it does with particle board), but I agree with the other comments that it may be more trouble than its worth.have you considered something like thesehttp://www.leevalley.com/US/Hardware/page.aspx?cat=3,43715&p=45375
Tom King
The last time my Wife wanted to "redo" closets, we ended up with an 1800 sq. ft. addition on the house. It does have an 8x16 foot closet for each of us.
