Tom Cancelleri
I just knocked out 2 templates for 2 different types of reindeer. Cut up a quick oak one and hit it with some tung oil.

Llama
I didn't invent the reindeer. Some other guys are making these too, with good results. The tail is a nice touch. I do expect a quarterly royalty fee. Just put it in an envelope, and write "Reindeer King" on the front. They know who I am.

Tom Cancelleri
Tis' the season LOL, there are patterns all over the place for them. That pattern is fairly common. In January I bought the Carter Blade Stabilizer after seeing Alex Snodgrass cutting reindeer in like 45 seconds. I was impressed by the turning radius achieved by it. Mel's got much nicer materials to work with, all I have on hand that's big enough for reindeer is spalted maple, oak, cherry, mahogany, and black walnut. That's odd, I put Reindeer King on the envelop and a sleigh came to pick it up. Actually I'm taking orders and selling them locally through some channels and all proceeds are going towards a local animal rescue.

Tom Cancelleri
Mel, If I may ask you, how long is it taking you to make one? I can get them cut out in about 3-5 minutes, sanded and finished in about 13-15 minutes. I had to modify the design slightly and remove the tail and make it still have a tail with a squared edge, had to minimize hand sanding. I have 18 on order, and I just started advertising them last night via facebook. I'm donating 100% of all monies collected to a local dog rescue. Llama
Hard to say, I usually batch them out. Last year was nuts for them. I made more reindeer than I care to remember. And a giraffe on top of that!
Tom Cancelleri
I got a request for a moose. I'll have to do some thinking about how I'd make a moose, and still keep the modern design
Tom Cancelleri
Refined so that I can batch them out quicker. 7 minutes of hand sanding that tiny area where the sander can't get isn't worth it if I have a bunch to make
Llama
I got a request for a moose. I'll have to do some thinking about how I'd make a moose, and still keep the modern design I had that problem when I made the giraffe and cows. I'll help as much as I can. I have these animals figured out.
