Popular Post ..Kev
After seeing a few of these lately (Thanks Doc!), I decided to bang one out and use it for a Christmas gift. Thought I'd toss a twist in and "float" the candle pads in epoxy and add a bit of live edge to the center.. Local Western maple and sapele.

Mzdadoc
Very nice! I must say I could really get used to inspiring people!!!! Lol It feels great since so many of you inspire me! The final coat is drying on my final four and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Only had to level feet on two of the five. Seeing yours Kev has opened up my imagination where it comes to looking at plans in a whole new way. Thank you!!!

Bill Tarbell
That looks awesome. How did you get the dark concentric ring around the candle pads?
..Kev
That looks awesome. How did you get the dark concentric ring around the candle pads? The candle pads are about 1/8 smaller than than the cut out and then floated in epoxy. Once the epoxy cures, that effect is achieved... wouldwurker
I'm trying to figure out those feet...are they square with angled grooves, or angled with square grooves. Or neither? Also 'Angle and the Square Grooves' is definitely the name of my new band.

Also 'Angle and the Square Grooves' is definitely the name of my new band. Square with angled tops only. The mortises are also square. As long as they meet at the corners, all is good If you look at the direction of the curve, they have to meet at the outside edge.

Tom Cancelleri
This gives me some ideas for making another candle holder. I've got some 8/4 live edge cherry and some beautiful 2.5x2.5 flame maple turning stock.
