Matt Truiano
Does anyone have any info on where I can purchase boards in the ny,nj area. Preferably at a reasonable driving distance from NYC. I've been purchasing whatever hardwood they have in stock at Lowes and Home Depot but the prices are extremely high and they only cary 3/4" stock.

They aren't a wood dealer but they do specialize in really nice hand tools and Festool stuff in that area. If you sweet talk them they might be able to get you a line on some wood dealers in the area. Good luck in your search, this is certainly a struggle for alot us out there. Coop
New York City! No Pace Picante Sauce, no Whataburger and now, no hardwood dealers. Take a vacation in a pickup (?) and drive south. Good luck bud.

Marmotjr
If you don't mind a little manual labor, there's a nice cut and mill your own area just downtown. Mind you, you have to be quick, the cops might object.
