Coop
The thru tenons are well done as well.

I got sneaky with those. I laid out the location, traced the outside of the end of the tenon, and routed ¼" deep on the inside, coming maybe 1/16" within the line. Then I used a chisel to get the line perfectly fit to the tenon. Once I had a perfect ¼" deep mortise, I got a template routing bit and used its bearing to carry the mortise all the way through. In other words, I treated it like I would the hole for a dovetail key, but then used a router bit with a guide bearing to carry it deeper. It worked really well!
Popular Post Coop
I made this a good while back from some mag, not because I needed a stool but because it offered some challenges that I'd never incurred. You did good dude!
lewisc
I like it. The variety of feature in the top is fantastic. Time to find a decent slab to play with.
Popular Post Denette
It is in place! I think the maple in the legs looks good with the fabric for the seats.

wtnhighlander
Looks great! How far down is the stretcher? Is it pretty close to the top?

You can see the through tenon on the side of the trestle leg if you look. I just eyeballed it, but I'd say it's probably about 16" or so up, and it is about 4" wide. It is pretty close to centered, actually.
Coop
I think the maple on the legs really sets it off against the parquet flooring! Our neighbors to the north really know what they're doing.
