Yup, band nerd My experience is that photos are not resized by the forum software or at least it does not work well consistently. I use my phone for these pictures so my work around is to text the picture to myself. That gets image resized. I then save the texted picture and upload that resized picture to my post. Bit of pain, but it works.

On my phone a 13mp image is 4.2MB @ 4160x3120 while a 5mp image is 1.4MB @ 2560x1920. No such controls on my phone. Otherwise that would have been the easy solution. I've been using them for 5 years and really dig it. There's a resizing option during upload that'll take care of it with a simple click or two. Yeah I like imgur too...but I'm waiting for the day that they go the way of photobucket and overnight decide to charge you $300/year for third party hosting. I used photobucket for like five or six years and then suddenly...poof...gone. Total PITA moving everything to another host. I still probably have a thousand images in this forum with broken links. Thanks photobucket.

This was a 18MP photo which was resized automatically by the forum to 1200x800 148KB JPEG. This was uploaded by my phone.
Mark J
I thought maybe this feature was fixed with the upgrade, but no joy for me. Attemps to upload 1.9 & 2.6 MB files failed.

estesbubba
If you go here it will show you your files sizes. Most of mine are 200KB or under. https://www.woodtalkonline.com/attachments/
wtnhighlander
My observation is that maybe the upload/resize isn't failing because it can't shrink the image, but because the connection times out while uploading the ginormous original. Works about 60% of the time for me, and my network connection from home (dsl or 4g) stinks. Out loud.
Mark J
Interesting thought, maybe it is the up load and not the resize that's failing. Has the same effect, though. I have the same problem on my WiFi or on the LTE network, but I have about 5 MB/sec at home. Still this is not that big a file. I'll have to experiment on another network. Tpt life
Testing Chrome. It is not Chrome. Also tested an old enough photo that it was pulling from the cloud instead of being hosted on the device.
