Gnr4791
I’m new to woodworking and I would like to learn more about traditional woodworking tools. Does anyone have a favorite book that they recommend on traditional tools? Thanks!
Chet
Welcome to the forums. When you say "traditional" do you mean hand tools. If you can give us more information on what type of tools we may be able to help you more.
Coop
And while you’re pondering Chet’s question, Marc, Woodwhisperer, the host of this place, has published a great book titled Hybrid Woodworking that’s worth a look.

Gnr4791
This is great Thanks! Is there any benefit I wonder to buying the newer editions?
Tom King
Aldren Watson's books had been out of print for decades. I bought mine in the '70's, but don't really know about the latest versions. Since he's been dead for a while, I expect that the later ones are just reprints of the originals, but it's just a guess. I've done really good shopping for books on ebay lately. I don't mind buying an old book, if it's cheap. I've bought several hundred in the last year on the Colonial period. There was a LOT of history from here that was never taught in school. I've found books that sell for a hundred bucks new, for 3.99 with free shipping on ebay. I don’t mind buying old books either as long as they are in good shape. I’ll probably order this one off of eBay. Thanks.
