bushwacked
The mac & cheese looks good too ! What is the other side dish ?The Mac and cheese had lobster in it. It was really good. The other is what they called sweet siracha brussel sprouts. It look like they just basically cooked them in fire cause they were burnt black and then covered in sauce. Surprisingly they were awesome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hahaha .... but they could! These didn’t taste anything like brussel sprouts. Perry’s originated here in Houston and we’ve been a couple of times. Someone must really love you as that place is pricey! Oh did it? That’s cool! It was the first time I’ve ever been there and yes pricey is right! But the wife does like to celebrate big occasions so who am I to tell her no to a steakhouse dinner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bushwacked
Some hardware came. Workbench casters to move it when needed. Then adjustable feet to make it level while on ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wdwerker
The leveling feet look like what I would choose. Do the casters lever up & down somehow ?

wdwerker
So every time the table needs to roll you have to raise all the leveling feet ? Mobile bases on power tools the casters raise & lower so the leveling feet can stay the same. If you mark places on the floor it's helpful when you want to move the table back to the same location. I am assuming when not in use they will sit out of the way. When I need them they will raise the bench off the ground.... at least I really hope that is how it works haha. Went on lunch break and got the beginning wood for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

bushwacked
I’m debating on 1/2 or 1/4” back panels. Does it matter? Just figured a little lighter would make it easier to move around and position ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wdwerker
Won't matter much if it's on wheels. You probably won't unload it to move it will you ? Price isn't much more but 1/2" will be much stiffer and add rigidly. Even 3/4" would work better unless your clearances are too tight to allow the extra thickness. I tend to overbuild things and then expect them to last 30 years or more. So far it's paid off for me. And if the base is sectional you can break it apart if you ever relocate.
bushwacked
sounds like a good way to look at things Steve, thanks! Might as well never have to worry about it again ... hopefully haha
bushwacked
Here is what I am thinking for the slide purchase. I am debating only getting real slides for the 3 big pull out drawers for the planer, sander and compressor. The rest of the drawers I am debating on putting in just some wood rails they can slide on. I think it will work just fine and save quite a bit of money since I am looking at having to buy about another 12-16 slides if I get them for every drawer. The other drawers will be small and not really hold any major weight, just smaller stuff that needs a home ..... thoughts?

wdwerker
That's a good choice using the 200 lb slides on the planer etc. KV 8405 22" slide should be around $10-$13 . The "05" means the slide has overtravel, it pulls out an extra inch which gives you much better access to the contents of the drawer.

Hmmm 10-13? Ok I’ll look around for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wdwerker
Well that's wholesale cabinet shop prices. https://www.cabinetparts.com/p/knape-and-vogt-drawer-slides-side-mount-drawer-slides-KV840522 is the best a quick search came up with. bushwacked
Minstalling some adjustable feet ... I only ordered 4 so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the other 4 I need ... I thought I had 8 haha Installed the workbench casters as well. Nice and easy and seem to be decent quality. We shall see once I try and lift all this haha. I added an extra 3/4 piece to each caster to hopefully give it more strength and not break anything or rip the side of my cabinet off And the other end installed. Now the fun part tomorrow once I get the feet on ... removing that and putting cabinets under it so it doesn’t tip over while doing it Kind of a quick look of what it will be ... bushwacked
How important do you think doors will be on the closest 3? They will only be holding one tool and on a pullout drawer ...the rest of the cabinets will be filled with drawers ... so no doors needed there. Some want all their stuff open and easy to access and some want the doors to help keep the dust off.
Chet
If the pull out tools will be used in place the doors could become knee knockers. If the tool is to be lifted to the bench top and the door closed for use then doors become a good option to keep things tidy.
wdwerker
Main reason for doors is if you run a router or other chip throwing tool it keeps the contents clean. Best reason for no doors is you can see where things are for quick access.
bushwacked
Detached from the saw ... And the moment of truth .. The wheels work and nothing ripped apart haha. It is really easy to roll around too!! Now to build my 3 pullout drawer boxes tomorrow. I think 5” high sides should be plenty fine to keep everything in its place. Everything going on them is so heavy that I doubt it even needs sides to stay in place. Not sure on what sizes to build the other drawers yet so I think I’ll play around in the shop and see what I use more of and where I use it before I decide on a more permanent drawer design.
