Popular Post treeslayer
i didn't want you folks to think i was just slacking off, the first pictures are a couple of easels 12" X 14" for daughter and granddaughter with storage inside and adjustable to any angle, the next are called a Spurtle, yeah i know i never heard of them either just like the Charcuterie boards i made, never heard of them either, they are about 11" long and 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" wide, i like them because they are quick to make and make great gifts, don't use too much wood and are finished with mineral oil, as usual thanks for looking
Popular Post treeslayer
Forgot to tell you that the Spurtle is used for cooking and food prep, toss a salad, stir up stuff, I know I’m losing it so no comments in that, mix of wood scraps I had, mahogany, cherry, walnut, maple
Chestnut
Cool projects I really like the easels. I had to read the whole post a couple times cause I thought the Spurtle was talking about the easel and i was confused especially when the actual spurtle pictures came up.
Ronn W
I've been seeing ads on TV for spurtles for - you guessed it - $19.95. I like yours better. 1
Coop
Dave, the easels are very well done. What are the pivot pins made from? The blackish on both the waiting area and the storage, is that blackboard paint? The Spurtle: you know you can’t kiss without telling! Give us a run down on the construction/shaping. Those are neat!

You guessed it Ronn you’ve met my wife I do what she says and she wanted some, probably made 10 more than I posted, gave them as Christmas gifts. Thanks Coop the centers are 1/4” tempered hardboard, makes for a great drawing surface, the bolts are T-bolts brass plated from Woodcraft and I’ve got more spurtles to build after I build another easel and a couple of recipe boxes, I’ll do a quick post on how they are made, really easy and a great way to use up short pieces of wood 11 minutes ago, Coop said: Dave, the easels are very well done. JonG
Spurtles eh? Those look really handy as well as beautiful. What a great way to use up cut offs.
Coop
When researching spurtles, I came across this link. A variation is quiet common in this area but I have to try this recipe! Looks like I might not have pasted this correctly?
