Popular Post rainjer
This is a project I have been thinking about doing for a long time. I want it build a folding outfeed table for my table saw. My design was inspired by the folding shelf brackets i used on my wife's sewing cabinet builds I did. I was able to source some 20, 440lb. shelf brackets for the build. then I used Sketch-op to design a mounting system the used riv-nuts in the saw's upright tubes. Over the weekend I built the mounting bracket and go it installed on the saw. I mocked up my top and it is less than 1/32" below the saw surface tan parallel. This week I will make the table top.
wtnhighlander
Nice support structure! BTW, did you draw that saw yourself, or find a model online? Those brackets look handy, mind sharing a source?
rainjer
I down loaded the saw from 3D Warehouse. The folding shelf brackets came from Amazon.
drzaius
Nice job on that. I made an attached, fold down outfeed table for my saw as well and love it. It's so nice to be able to raise the table & have it be perfectly aligned with the saw table no matter where in my shop (uneven floor) it is. And when not using it, I can make it go away & not take up any space.
rainjer
@drzaius - My problem I have is my bench currently doubles as my outfeed table. Every time I need extra support to rip something I have to clear of my bench. With this design I can fold it up when I need it and down when I don't and like you said, it is always even with the saw even if I take it outside to work.
Popular Post rainjer
Today I was able to get out and build the top and install it. The side by the saw is 1/32" lower and the far side is 1/16" lower. I will lead it like this for now. I can always shim it later. It also folds down 90 degrees and clears the dust collection hose. I am calling this a success. I just need to sand and finish it.
jussi
Well done. Looks like a real space saver.
Coop
Very well done! In your first pic, where did you source the threaded inserts for the legs?

They are rivet nuts. I bought a rivet nut tool for another project. After that project was when the seed was planted to use them on this project. wtnhighlander
@rainjer, is that the same Delta saw sold at Lowes Home Improvement stores? Curious about your dust collection, as the display model I examined has a completely open chassis, no provision for collecting dust. Unless there is a shroud that wasn't installed? The home centers are notorious for doing a bare minimum of assembly. Also curious on your opinion of the linear elevation mechanism and direct drive. Mine had covers, the new on does not. The dust port on the new one is in the back up a little higher
The Duke
How is your table working out for you? I have the same saw and I want to add an outfeed table like yours. Ken
Mark J
@The Duke, @rainjer hasn't stopped by the forum in over a year, so you may not get a response any time soon.
