Coop
Why did leaving the project subject them to being stripped? Glad to know that the Citristrip does work on some things. I bought a jug to strip an old desk and it didn’t work. I was going to take it to the recycling center but may just keep it.
gee-dub
@Coop I was using a wipe on / wipe off technique and had laid on a heavy near-final coat. It should have been wiped off in about 20 or 30 minutes but got abandoned. Gravity can do horrible things to a thick film finish left at that stage . I might have been able to recover things but I think a re-do will actually take less effort and give me a better result.

Mark J
Very nice, gee-dub. Do you secure the lids after placing the cremains?

Do you secure the lids after placing the cremains? The tops are floating but fixed in place. The bottoms act as the lid and are held in place by the feet. Veneered plywood in this case, solid maple on the other two. The cremains are sealed in plastic when delivered. I use a synthetic batting to take up any excess room to avoid having the cremains shifting around if the urn is handled. This can be an unpleasant sensation for some people.
